Burn Fat AFTER exercise??
While recovering?
Sounds too good to be true right?

There’s always been methods, this isn’t a NEW thing.
HIIT training (High Intensity Interval Training), interval training, even the right Resistance Training can help your body burn more calories after workouts.

AfterBurn is just a new modern name given to High Intensity workouts, be it strength, cardio or a combination of both, to help you burn fat up to 48 hours after workouts..

BUT, it all comes down to HOW INTENSE you workout, How much effort you put in, how often you do these workouts, what state your fitness, muscles etc are in..

It’s NOT a quick fix answer to fat loss, but IT IS a good one! In another words, you can’t do it like 3 times and expect to be 20kg lighter, it has to become a type of workout you enjoy doing regularly.

WHAT IS IT?
AfterBurn training as stated is High Intensity Fitness.
One example is to do a circuit, of say 3 exercises for up to at least 5 sets of each..
Example:
10 x Jump Squats
10 x Burpees
10 x push ups
(1 set)
– Repeat 5 times (5 sets)
ALL
with no rest until the end

This is just one example, there are many types.
Also Strength (resistance) training aspects as well.

HOW IT WORKS?
It works by burning energy from high intensity activity, an energy source called
ATP: Adenosine Triphosphate.

To replenish this, it also takes calories.
So in other words, you’ll burn calories exercising, but you’ll continue burning calories while trying to restore these energy levels, sounds awesome!

Your body would have undergone such exhausting exercise, and will need to recover, it’s this process that gives the name AfterBurn, the body still Hard At Work restoring, replenishing, recovering.

The same happens for when you strength (resistance) train, as you build muscle, because you recruit more muscle to help with the exercise.

The key with Afterburn training is to think about all the different muscles you can use in the one circuit. The more muscles you can use the better, as you will burn more fat and fatigue more muscles, hence more needing recovery and so more calories to burn.

HOW CAN YOU DO IT?
